Diwali 2019

Diwali, or Deepawali is the Hindu festival of lights is celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November). It is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”.

In Guyana, Diwali was observed on Sunday October 27, 2019 but celebrated on Monday October 28, 2019. DSCL held its annual ‘Diwali Best Dressed Competition’ on Friday October 25, 2019 where employees were given the opportunity to wear their traditional East Indian wear to work as they participated in competition.
